Vespa Producing One-Off Scooter for the Who Quadrophenia Directors Cut Box Set

Vespa is creating a one-off scooter for legendary British band The Who in support of an upcoming “director’s cut” box set for the rock opera “Quadrophenia”.

The one-off model, to be based on a Vespa PX125, will be equipped (or “mod”-ded if you will) with whitewall tires, various chrome details, a windscreen, multiple mirrors, a faux fur-covered seat and special retro graphics. The scooter will be given away in an upcoming contest on the Who’s Facebook page.

The “Quadrophenia: The Director’s Cut” box set includes a remastered version of the original 17-track double album, first released in 1973. The box set also includes several previously unreleased demos by Pete Townshend including songs that didn’t make the cut for the original album, an eight-track DVD, a hardcover book and various notes, photographs, memorabilia and exclusive content.

The box set will be available in the U.S. on Nov. 15 (the U.K. release is a day earlier on Nov. 14). Details about the one-off Vespa will be released soon.
